Children’s Programs and Events
We have a ton of fun events planned for this summer! We’ll have outdoor storytime sessions for our youngest patrons, activities for elementary aged children, and live animal shows for the whole family! Registration for these events is required and can be done on our online events calendar. You can also download a copy to print!
Summer Reading Book Reviews
STARTING JUNE 14TH: For those entering grades 6-12 in September, your goal is pretty simple! Just read a book and write a review about it! You will earn a raffle ticket with every book review submission, which means you’ll have a chance to win one of three grand prizes! And there’s a BONUS! Submit 4 book reviews to win a small prize! To submit your book reviews, view the prizes, and find out more about this program, visit the online Book Review Log here. (P.S. Your book review logs count as your registration, you do not have to sign up separately!)
Teen Summer Writing Contest
STARTING JUNE 14TH: Submit a short story, poem, song, play or even a script that you have written! Or write something new! Each submission counts as 3 raffle entries for the Teen Summer Reading Program! Each participant will also receive a small prize for their first writing submission. The winner of the writing contest will be announced at the end of the summer, on September 7th, and he or she will win a separate big prize! To submit your work, view the prizes, and find out more about this contest, visit the online Teen Writing Contest Submission Form here!
If necessary, paper copies of the Book Review Log and the Writing Contest Submission Form can be picked up at the library in the Teen section or Youth Services Department!
