
The Main Library Alliance is migrating to a new online library system in March. As a result, holds cannot be placed in the catalog until March 26th. However, we can retrieve Madison items for you!
These requests are subject to item availability. Most of our library collection in the main building has been made available, so if you do not see an item on the shelf in our temporary Chase Room mini library, please ask a staff member for assistance. We are happy to go into the main building to retrieve an item for you.
Here’s how it works:
If you see an item available at the Madison Public Library that you want to request, email circ-mad@mainlib.org , call us at 973-377-0722, or ask us in person.
If received before 5 PM, your request will be filled asap, depending on demand and item availability, and you will receive a notification when it is available for pickup.
If your request is received after 5 PM on a weekday, the request will be filled within 24 hours depending on staff availability. Weekend requests may not be filled until Monday.
If an item is not available, we will help you locate it at a neighboring library.
