Baby Rhymetime (ages 0-24 months)
Tuesdays at 10:30 am, June 26th-July 31st
Sing, clap, learn rhymes and more! For babies 0-24 months this storytime uses songs, nursery rhymes, oral stories, and fingerplays to introduce language, concepts, and play to babies and their care givers.

Stories and More (ages 2 and up)
Wednesdays at 10:30 am, June 27th-August 1st
This storytime and craft is an excellent way to introduce important listening and early literacy skills to young children. Through theme-based playful stories, fingerplays, and songs children become active listeners, learn to follow stories, and participate in activities-all vital skills in building early literacy.

Friday Fun with Miss Carol - Songs, Dancing, and More! (ages 2 and up*)
Fridays at 10:00 am, June 29th-August 3rd (ages 2-3)
Fridays at 10:30am, June 29th-August 3rd (ages 3 and up)
Dance, move, sing, and laugh with Miss Carol
*This program is a dance and movement program, so for child safety and enjoyment, we recommend that children who actively participate be ages 2 and up.

Read to a Dog!

Read to a Dog

Build confidence and vocabulary (and have fun) while reading to licensed therapy dogs. Registration required; please register by calling 973-377-0722 ext. 216 or or email us at childrens@madisonnjlibrary.org.

LEGO competition

Saturday June 23rd 11am-12pm (ages 4 and up to compete)
Spend your first day of summer break making something fantastic, creative, and imaginative with LEGO at home — and then bring it into the Library for a Dream Big themed LEGO competition!

June 23rd is also the start of SUMMER READING – and the theme this year is DREAM BIG, so try and dream big when you are thinking about what to build with your LEGO for this competition.

Children must be ages 4 and up to participate

Rules and Recommendations
1. Be creative! A good story – and an inventive use of LEGO – is what we are looking for.
2. Do NOT use full sets – pieces from sets are fine, but we are looking for you to combine different pieces of sets, and stand alone pieces to create something new and exciting.
3. Children will be organized into age groups – i.e. ages 7 and under, and ages 7 and up
4. There will be prizes for all participants, so please register!

Summer Reading

SAVE the DATE – Summer Reading starts June 23rd at 11am.

Get ready to dream big – and join us for a HUGE day of festivities to mark the start of Summer Reading! We will have LEGO, face painting, prizes, music, and more! For all ages.
